Additional needs

Beats from the Soul will visit your specialist setting with all props, instruments supplied. You just need the space and the chairs. Your workshop can be tailored to suit the individual needs of your group.

We provide a fun, safe, supported learning environment and use drums, rhythm, music, creative movement, puppetry, games, play based activities and mindful awareness tools.

Our social and emotional learning workshops build students confidence, self esteem, sense of self, teamwork, self regulation and problem solving skills.

Motivation and engagement is essential in the delivery of the programs and age appropriate sensory experiences are offered to actively involve students in their learning. This program is aligned to the Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships initiative and gives students experiences and opportunities to develop strategies to understand their emotional intelligence. It addresses the Victorian Curriculum goals from level A to 6.

Communication is a key component of this program and individual students' communication systems can be actively used in sessions. Many forms of Augmentative and Alternative Communication are easily incorporated in these sessions. This could be through the use of communication books, symbol cards, devices and keyword signs.
